Hailey Mick
Chapter President & President Elect
Hailey Mick holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Auburn University and has nearly 20 years of experience in the commercial construction industry. Hailey’s involvement with ASHRAE has included participation in numerous technical and standards committees, contribution to the taskforce for building decarbonization, and delivering technical presentations at local chapter meetings across North America and annual conferences. Hailey has been a resident of Chattanooga since 2019 and is a member of Silverdale Baptist Church. Outside of her professional responsibilities, she enjoys boating, hiking, and cooking with her family. Hailey is eager to serve the greater Chattanooga area through her upcoming roles as Chapter President and Membership Promotion Chair for the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 society years.
Chris Azar
Chapter Vice President
Chris Azar is a Senior Program Manager at TVA supporting the Business and Industry incentives program. He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Tennessee, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP), and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP). Before joining the Business and Industry Team he worked for 14 years managing TVA’s Internal Energy Management Program (IEMP). In IEMP, he was responsible for helping TVA meet federal laws and Presidential Executive Orders that require it to identify and implement projects that reduce energy and water consumption in TVA facilities. Prior to joining TVA in 2009, Chris worked as a Mechanical Engineer with Allen & Hoshall in Memphis, TN. He coordinated the design of HVAC systems and performed energy studies for a range of building types including schools, offices, warehouses, hospitals, industrial buildings, and military bases.
Carolyn Ritchie
Chapter Secretary
Mrs. Ritchie is a professional engineer with AEED, Inc. and has 15 years
of experience in mechanical engineering, project management,
design, and commissioning. Carolyn currently takes on the role of lead senior mechanical engineer in the mechanical division completing mechanical design
work and oversight.
She has performed a wide range of mechanical designs for multiple
sectors including industrial, municipal, commercial, hospitality,
educational, institutional, and healthcare facilities.
Carolyn has served as Chapter Secretary since 2020.

David Dinse, PE
Board of Governors
​
David Dinse holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Connecticut, and had 40 plus years of experience in construction and energy research, including 34 years with the Tennessee Valley Authority prior to retiring in 2014. The TVA career included research in solar, heat pump water heaters, geothermal heat pumps, low temperature heat pumps, near zero energy homes, and other energy efficiency technologies. Dinse worked with the Electric Power Research Institute and Oak Ridge National Labs on many research projects. Prior to Retirement
Dinse was a registered PE in Tennessee and North Carolina.
Dinse’s involvement with ASHRAE has included Tennessee Valley Chapter President,
Membership Promotion Chair, and Board of Governors. As Membership Promotion chair David won the Society’s Lincoln Bullion Award in 2001.
Dinse also won Region VII Pyramid of Engineering Design Excellence, for work on the geothermal retrofit of The Daniel Boone High School in 1997. In 1998 he won a third place Society Technology Award for the work done at this school.
Dinse served on TC 6.8 - Geothermal Heat Pump and Energy Recovery Applications Committee,including chairing the committee, and also as Regional Vice Chair of Membership Promotion. David also received ASHRAE’S Distinguished Service Award in 2007. Retirement interests include boating, camping and playing guitar at Calvary Chapel Chattanooga where he and his wife regularly attend.
